Clinical presentations and representative biopsy samples of AL amyloidosis. Free light chains secreted by the clonal plasma cells deposit in various tissues, including the heart, kidney, liver, gastrointestinal tract, soft tissues and neural systems. Detailed information about each involved organ is summarized in the figure.
